Patrick Emerling is a multiple-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and Race of Champions Modified Tour winner, and NASCAR Xfinity Series driver for SS Green Light Racing in the No. 07.
In 2022, Emerling teamed up with longtime NASCAR competitor Joey Gase to open Emerling-Gase Motorsports, a full-time team in the Xfinity Series. The team started with just one car on the track for each race, but then evolved towards running two cars full-time, with Emerling driving one of them part-time in 2022 and 2023.
Now, Emerling has switched to be the primary driver of the No. 07 in the Xfinity Series for more than 20 events in 2024. He also competed full-time on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driving the Fleetworks No. 1 for Rich Gautreau, winning three times.
The Orchard Park, New York, native is no stranger to the front of the field, and his history includes countless wins, specifically in different divisions of Tour-Type Modified racing. He currently competes part-time on the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and ARCA Menards Series, among other select Open Modified events.
In 2021, Emerling had arguably his best season of Modified racing to date -- winning three NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races and finishing second in the championship standings, while also capturing additional wins with the Race of Champions Modified Tour. He opened the 2021 Whelen Modified Tour season winning the 49th running of the NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford Motor Speedway, and followed it up in July by winning at his home track in the Tour debut at Lancaster Speedway in July.
Later in the year, Emerling won his first race at New York's Riverhead Raceway, a quarter-mile bullring, keeping him in the thick of the championship battle to the finale, where he came up just short of his first crown, finishing second. At the end of the year, Emerling had nine top-five finishes and 11 top-10s in the 14 events. Outside of the Whelen Modified Tour, Emerling also went to Victory Lane with the Race of Champions Modified Tour, where he is a multiple-time champion.
In 2021, Emerling ran three races for Our Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, scoring a best finish of 24th. A year earlier, he made his debut for the team at Bristol Motor Speedway. In 2019, Emerling won the Whelen Engineering All-Star Shootout at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, his only victory at the 'Magic Mile' to date.

Back in 2017, Emerling had a standout year -- making his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut, driving the No. 83 for Cobb Motorsports at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, where he finished 23rd. He would return to the truck later in the year at Texas Motor Speedway. Also during 2017, Emerling scored his first NASCAR Whelen Modfiied Tour win in style -- winning at 'Thunder Valley' of Bristol Motor Speedway in August.
Emerling works with the Leaty family -- led by Jan Leaty -- to prepare his cars for battle. Jan Leaty serves as the crew chief of the operation, as a former Modified winner himself, including the 1996 NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford. Emerling also has select events on his resume on the American-Canadian Tour, Race of Champions Sportsman and Late Model divisions, and the Monaco Modified Tri Track Series.
